Welcome to my website!
My goal is to teach financial planners, coaches, and counselors how to use simple, evidence-based action steps to provide outstanding client care.
I received my bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Family Finance. After I graduated I worked in the financial planning field for several years then decided to return to school.
I received my master’s degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University.
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional and an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®)
I currently teach at Utah Valley University in the Financial Planning program where I teach financial counseling courses and run our on-campus Money Management Resource Center.
I serve on the AFCPE (Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education) Board of Directors where I have served as Treasurer and President.
I have spent a lot of time learning about client communication, financial psychology, habits, change and similar topics. This website will share specific action steps to help you improve your client communication.
On the personal side, I have been married to my beautiful wife Traci since 1999 and we have five wonderful children. We live in Spanish Fork, Utah. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and working on projects (I just finished building shelves in my garage and my next project is organizing my tools).
